Stand Still and See the Salvation of God

Too Close For Comfort
Sometimes standing still is the hardest thing to do—especially when trouble is right in front of you. When the children of Israel faced the Red Sea with Pharaoh closing in behind them, Moses gave the people three clear instructions: 1) Do not fear, 2) Stand still, and 3) See the salvation of the Lord.
God has a way of taking situations that seem insurmountable and turning them into mere foothills. He declared that His enemies would become His footstool. Because we are connected to Jesus Christ, we already have the victory, our responsibility is simply to follow the instructions of the Lord.
Jehoshaphat faced a similar moment. Surrounded by armies that should have completely destroyed his people, he sought the Lord. God’s battle plan was not weapons, but praise. As they obeyed, God fought on their behalf. It is a reminder that the battle is not ours, but the Lord’s.
So, when fear tries to rise, remember: stand still, trust God, and watch Him move. Victory belongs to Him and to those who obey.
Scripture of the Week
“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”—Exodus 14:13
