Make investments that will last. Too often we put our resources, time, and energy into things that have no eternal value. God has a different way of measuring success than the world does. The world says to hold on tightly to everything for yourself, but God teaches us to trust Him with what we have. Scripture says that He uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. What may not make sense naturally will always make sense spiritually when God is involved.

The Bible teaches us to give a tenth of our increase and to honor God with our substance. When we place God first, we are showing Him that we trust Him as our Provider. We must be careful not to make bad investments by pouring everything into temporary things while neglecting eternal things. God can do more with your ten percent than we can do with the ninety. Hallelujah!

Many people spend their lives storing up treasures that can fade away overnight. Money can disappear, possessions can wear out, and earthly success can be lost. Jesus warned us not to store up treasures on earth where moth and rust corrupt and where thieves break through and steal. Instead, we are to lay up treasures in heaven that can never be destroyed or taken away.

When you invest in the Kingdom of God, you are making an investment that will last forever. Every act of obedience, every seed sown, every prayer prayed, every life encouraged, and every sacrifice made for God carries eternal value. We must keep our hearts focused on things above because wherever our treasure is, that is where our heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21 reminds us:

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
