Shooters Shoot

“Shooters shoot.” It’s a phrase rooted in basketball culture—especially among point guards and shooting guards. One of the most dynamic examples? Stephen Curry. He built his game on confidence, rhythm, and relentless belief. He could miss seven shots in a row, yet with the same poise, he’ll pull up and drain the next one. Why? Because real shooters don’t dwell on the misses—they’re always looking for the next opportunity to make.
As believers, we often let discouragement bench us. When things don’t go our way, we back off, shrink down, and stop doing the very things that once brought us success. But life isn’t always going to make it easy to walk in your purpose. That’s exactly when we need to double down—not on our own strength, but on the Word of God.
Think about the greats—Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan. They didn’t fold under pressure. Each miss only fueled their fire. They were determined to put their foot on the opponent’s neck and take control of the game. The Bible says, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool” (Psalm 110:1). That’s God’s promise: victory is not just possible—it’s inevitable when you trust Him. So when the enemy tries to shake your confidence, remind him who’s the boss. Keep shooting. Keep preaching, praying, building, and believing. Your confidence isn’t in the last shot—it’s in the One who called you to take it.
Shoot!
2 Kings 13:17-19
17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
